In my small city they have re-initiated ( Post -Covid) WORDS FEST , where local authors can promote their books, commune with other authors and the public. I'd seen notice of this occasionally during the pre-Covid era but never bothered, even as a member of the public, to take in the event. Now I am determined to finish the latest book and enlist in the event for next year, having at last the 'set of three' I've worked for as a substantial effort, at hand. If I manage to go, I'm interested to see if I make any contacts , or if it is anly an event that mainly promotes the venu, not the content or vendors. I have it in mind, that this would be my first attempt to 'crack' such an august assembly but then I would like to go to other book fests in the summer just as a matter of interest and for the fun of an outing, an overnight stay etc. So what better way to enter into that culture than as an author myself? ( Mainly, I admit to just being curious as the sale of books themselves these days in our tech environment, I'm sure is minimal. But who knows, maybe there'll be a 'story in it'...
