Bookfest - April

Local Bookfest gets underway for second year. Last year I did not know what to anticipate , but definitely my expectations were on the lower side I have to admit. Well, I was wrong. It was a fun event . I themed my table which went over well with the public; I poked about author author's offerings; and I talked with the public , and as they wouldn't have been there if weren't readers, that was fun and instructive. I don't believe in 'buying each others ' works - I only want to buy what I'm interested in, and as I had started work last year on collating my antology, I went to another author's table who was in to short stories comme moi. I liked his volume mostly, which is all you can say for almost any anthology.

I tried to pack lightly enough that I could haul in everything myself , but I had two friends who came by to spell me at some points during the day. I sold more than I thought because I priced for a walkin market and I had value added items , which only a few people took advantage of . This year, instead of biz cards I went for bookmarks as can get more information on them due to size. I went for a photo back drop, hoping I get a wall...otherwise it goes at the front of the table. I added another seasonal prop. So , just a few variances in presentation, but one should up it every time so your goods don't look tired ..... Will it be successful this year, given weather and economy? TBA
