March going out like a lamb Mar.16/2021

While I had good intentions for March i.e. to write every day, I've got the Prologue done, the advertising at the end of the book for the next novel in the series, the dedication, the acknowledgement, a spot to put a couple of maps relating to content (but no effort yet to draw them) and I've reached the page stating Part 1 Chapter 1 but I've now hit a bit of a wall. It's not writer's block incidentally, it's that I have to lead up to the 'action' in the book, and I just want to be there already, as then the story takes off. Instead I'm mired in alluding to characteristics of the main players, descriptions of 'place' and the like, which after a couple of books , the writer is a bit bored with and would just like readers to know it all if they've been following the series. But then the book has to be a bit of a 'stand alone' volume as well, in case a reader doesn't know it's one of a series and picked up all the descriptions before .

So: it's tedious work and requires a deal of focusing and self-discipline to go through characterization, physical and mental geography once again (seems interminable at times). There is no way to avoid it, just have to plow through. I've set end of March as the new goal to get Part 1 out of the way, and then hopefully I'll be able to sail through the start of the action in Part 2 to the end. (That may be too ambitious, but I'll go for it anyway... :) TBA
