Short Story Volume August 2024

Over the years I've written some short stories, mainly for my own amusement and poems as well and including some cartoons . Now that I've published the rom/com/mystery/adventure trilogy , I decided I had enough 'shorter fare' to do a volume/ anthology of my own works . Setting up the necessary Table of Contents has been interesting and I've done it like a Haiku to some extent i.e. 4 or 5 short stories and a poem to cleanse the palate , then another 4 or 5 and poem ... the basic structure . But wanting only 300 pages or so (keeping in mind the expense of printing deductible from any royalties) I wrestled with: ' should I , rather than insert a cartoon after the poem followed by stories, do a separate graphics chapter and another separate chapter of additional poems '. That seemed simple enough . If I'm going over my limit of pages , I can always put 2 cartoons to a page, and the same for poems . But should I stint , if this is the only short story volume I ever produce , is the question ? I guess you'll have to get a copy to see what I decided .... :)
