January Re-solution Jan. 10 2024

After a month of 'designer block' for the cover of this year's forthcoming short story volume, finally settled on an image that just came to me out of the ether while engaged in an e-mail to a relative on an entirely different subject. One wonders about these moments of creativity -- are they one-off mysterious plasmatic entities or are they a gelling of a composite number of ideas revolving in both conscious and subconscious mind . Whatever the origin , I just wanted a starting point to the volume, and as I think the design now appropriate to the material it will help to propel the project forward: a bit like an actor in the dress rehearsal, donning a new costume and creating a new character to go with . So: at least one foot off the ground and running :)

(And as for the Devil Dog -- he 's coming along slowly, showing kernels of the true doggy underneath all the 'Sound and Fury '...)
