ChatGPT- a word ... Feb 21/23
Whoever said progress was naturally good? This is a dangerous anti- original- thinker program in my view. I don't give a rat's ass for students plagerizing using it, other than we're already churning out a lot that can't write a complete sentence or think a complete thought on their own thanks to their dependence on phones and games, but when authors such as myself ( whether it's schlock or War in Pieces) go to the trouble of trying to come up with original ideas , and spend months honing the content of a book or short story volume, I don't like the idea that something like ChatGPT may possibly source and usurp some of my hard won material or some one elses, and integrate without consequence into one of their transcripts. This is just another instance of technology gone awry, and the further reduction of the mental capabilities of human beings and the social value of truth and integrity even further in my opinion. "Be afraid, be very afraid."
