Alpha and Omega Dec 29 2023

Another year almost done and a blank slate in the offing for 2024. I've found whether it was cramming 3 books into almost 4 years that taking a break the last six months from literary pursuits was beneficial. With the death of my pet companion Dickens in October it extended the 'break' as shortly thereafter I adopted the little demon from hell, Jocky-Jack, a 6 year old Sheltie Pom mix. A lot of aggressive and socially unacceptable behaviours have had to be tamed over the ensuing couple of months , a bit of an exhaustive process but some progress has been made although a lot of work still to be done there yet ( perhaps a 'story' in there somewhere :) If nothing else a diversion from grief and a procrastination to getting on with a Short Story volume to be completed hopefully this coming year. I've found the cover art , usually the thing I like to do best in the whole production, not coming together well but I will have to forge on with that before the end of this year as somehow once that's 'locked in', the rest follows; ( like the preliminary set up for the print publication, this time requiring a table of contents, no glossary, perhaps pics and poems thrown in as well.) This will be an interesting undertaking with new learning along the way. Something to look forward to ....
