Back at It
Starting May 2nd , (I forget why I couldn't stick to my goal of May 1) I re-commenced writing an hour a day after a month's long hiatus--- not pushing it but trying to self -discipline again as I should have been finished the sequel in prep for review in the Fall and a Christmas release. I'm about a third of the way through my sequel but I was rather hung up on some research details which froze me for a time, trying to incorporate into the plot details, and there were the subtle effects of the Covid crisis. Eventually I had a starting point again and am just letting it go where it's going now, until the 'rough' is completed and I can then go back and make sense of those parts more in context .
Normally, I'd be ending my blog at the end of April, getting on with other things in Srping and summer with a return to blogging in October. If there is anything of momentous importance, since these are crazy times and nobody knows the next 'chapter', I'll do that odd blog between now and then.
Being of pretty sound mind and body, I haven't credited the Covid crisis with any power, but I'm sure as it's dragged on, like everyone else, i'm not totally 'immune' myself to the negatives in the back of one's head. I have found that disruption of routines, denials of wants and needs, self -imposed solitary confinement etc have taken at least some toll re: focus and motivation, and 'getting down to it' . Truth can be stranger than fiction, but I would like to say in this historical moment in time that Fiction can be Stronger than Truth (C-19) --anyway , that's what I'm aiming for ....
