If you want to see how the creative drive can sustain in a crisis, look to Canadian Louise Penny #1 Best Selling author of the Inspector Gamache series . Her husband died recently, and even she acknowledged she was not sure she'd take up the pen again, but after a few months she found herself doing just that , depriving neither herself a great support in personally turbulent times, or us , the readers of another in the long line of the Gamache stories.
A consummate weaver of many plot threads in her work, Penny 's latest effort , 'Kingdom of the Blind' , lives up to her past standards but creates a bit of angst in the end, as the plot concludes in such a way , with all the various story threads so neatly tied , that it could indicate this is the last of the Gamache series....? Fortunately she seems to have left a 'window' open to continue if she can summon up the will to. I think her legion of readers 'will' her to do so . TBA .
