'Engaging' Web-site
I don't think I've posted this particular web-site before but if I have, this is only because I still find some of the information on poetry/prose contests etc relevant:
Essential Contests for Serious Writers - Subscribe Free

Some of the contests are not free, but appear reputable and have minimal entry fees. There are others that are free. Although many of the contests can be 'American' oriented , some are international . I've picked one with a very reputable publisher myself to go after in January , but of course there is no guarantee of any success. Still, as I've pummelled into every and any readers head that has deigned to read the blog, if you don't try at least , you'll never get anywhere. AND, having a deadline forces me to work on something that's been hanging about a bit too long. If I'm not successful with this venu, at least the polished version will be suitable to flog to other publishers in 2019.
A lot of publishers seem to be looking in January through April for material for the summer reading and Christmas markets. Take advantage if you can . Smokey says 'Only you can set literary fires!'
